Larry Scheinfeld is both a co-founder and partner at Zelkova Ventures, based in New York. Zelkova Ventures launched in 2008, as a venture capital firm focused on developing portfolio companies. Having enjoyed a successful career in the financial sector for many years prior, Larry has established a keen acumen for funding strategy and client acquisition.

Before establishing Zelkova Ventures in 2008, Larry Scheinfeld worked primarily as a principal and financial advisor for the Quellos Group. The Quellos Group specialized in investment management, financial advisory, and brokerage services. During his tenure there, Larry assisted the company in its highly specialized offerings. Larry has dedicated his career to gaining an intimate understanding of the inner-workings
of the financial sector. However, throughout his years in this industry, he has never shied away from applying his skills and experience to not-for-profit organizations. Larry has worked with numerous cause driven groups such as the Starlight Foundation and the the Bachmann-Strauss Dystonia and Parkinson Foundation.

The Starlight Foundation

Currently, Larry is serving on the board for the Starlight Foundation, a leading international charity that enhances the health and quality of life for ill children and their families. The Starlight Foundation is a prominent international charity that has been around for over 30 years. Since its inception, this foundation has partnered with leading experts in a cross section of fields including healthcare, entertainment and technology with the intention of creating services centered on caring for the well-being of the family. These services add value to the familial experiences in both the home and hospital, when caring for a sick child.


Forman School

Larry Scheinfeld has also spent time on the Board of Directors for Forman School. Situated justd an hour outside of New York amidst the beautiful greenery of Litchfield, Connecticut, Forman School fosters a caring environment for students with identified learning differences. Since 1930, Forman School has specialized in providing the best tools, practices and environment for addressing the unique challenges facing its students.

The Bachmann-Strauss Dystonia and Parkinson Foundation

In addition to supporting organizations like the the Starlight Foundation and the Forman School through his work as a board member, Larry Scheinfeld chooses to contribute monetarily to other non-profit groups as well. Larry regularly supports the Bachmann-Strauss Dystonia and Parkinson Foundation. As many as one million Americans are currently living with Parkinson’s disease, and since 1995, the Bachmann-Strauss Dystonia and Parkinson Foundation has committed to bettering the lives of those afflicted through developing better treatments and cures. With the continued support of patrons like Larry, the Bachmann-Strauss Dystonia and Parkinson Foundation has funded ground-breaking research in a variety of areas while pursuing the mission statement of the organization.
Larry Scheinfeld also ensures the overall financial health of organizations like the Eagle Hill School and Cornell University through his continued monetary support.

Larry Scheinfeld: At Home


Larry Scheinfeld currently resides in the vibrant city of New York. Larry enjoys spending time with his wife and his three children. In his free time, Larry takes advantage of the robust art and cultural scenes found in New York. When not working on his business ventures or pursuing his philanthropic causes, Larry works on his golf game as often as possible. In addition to spending time on the green, Larry also enjoys focusing on other forms of fitness training whenever he has the chance.
